Floodplain Management

During the second half of 2016, the City of Cornelius underwent a process to acknowledge and adopt updated floodplain maps (known as Flood Insurance Rate Maps, or FIRMs), prescribed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and new floodplain management policies and regulations. This process included public outreach and noticed public hearings, all of which were open to the general public.
