Evergreen Disposal & Recycling, Inc., and Hillsboro Garbage provide services in Cornelius under contract with the City. Each company services customers in a defined area of the City.

DEQ Waste Prevention and Recycling Education:

Cornelius is a member of the Washington County Cooperative Recycling Program, which includes Washington County and the cities of Banks, Cornelius, Durham, Forest Grove, Hillsboro, King City, North Plains, Sherwood, Tigard, and Tualatin.  The Cooperative Program provides waste reduction and recycling education and assistance for community members, apartment property managers and workplaces. For recyclables that are not allowed in the curbside recycling cart, a service can be provided at an extra cost for certain materials

Business Recycling Requirements:

Your business is required to separate recycling for collection. As a business owner you must provide bins, labeled collection areas and instructions to employees. Ordinance 8.05.150, Business Recycling.

Business Food Scrap Requirements:

Businesses that generate 250 lbs or more of food scraps a week are also required to separate food scraps for collection. To find out if your business qualifies, contact Washington County business food scraps webpage As a business owner you must provide bins, labeled collection areas and instructions to employees. Service Interruptions

Weather conditions such as snow, severe heat and smoke may interrupt garbage, recycling and yard debris collection. In the event of a service disruption, please visit WashingtonCountyOR.gov for service updates and answers to frequently asked questions.
