Fire Marshal

Addressing/Street Names

Hydrants 
Hydrant pressure, flow, and location data is available from the Fire Marshal by contacting (503) 357-3840 or fire@corneliusor.gov .  The City of Cornelius Fire and Public Works Departments annually maintain and test city fire hydrants from July 1 to September 30. 

ISO Rating 
The ISO class for residents within the City of Cornelius boundaries is a 4.  Property owners living within the Cornelius R.F.P.D. who are within five miles of the station and within 1000 feet of a hydrant or approved water source have a fire protection class code of 4.  Those properties located beyond five miles have a protection class code of 8.  For further information, contact the Fire Marshal at (503) 357-3840 or fire@corneliusor.gov 

Inspections

Pre-Fire Plans 
The Cornelius Fire Department generates plans on how to deal with a business should it become involved in fire or other types of emergencies.  These plans are developed through inspections, tours, or by information provided by the business.  To schedule an inspection or tour, or to provide the fire department with valuable information about your business, please contact the Fire Marshal at (503) 357-3840 or fire@corneliusor.gov

The Cornelius Fire Department is part of the Oregon Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition.

Home Fire Sprinklers Reduce Property Loss 

  • They can contain, and may even extinguish, a fire in less time than it would take the fire department to arrive on the scene.
  • They can operate whether you are able to take action, are at home, or are absent.
  • The fire department cannot come until someone calls.
  • Fire can burn unnoticed until it breaks out of the house.
