Rural Address Signs

The Cornelius City/Rural Fire Department provides prompt fire and emergency medical services, but sometimes we need help finding you "in a hurry."

In 1995, the Cornelius Fire Department adopted a Rural Address Sign program.  The sign is a standard 6" x 12" marker with reflective green background and reflective white numbers.  The sign comes two-sided (numbers on both sides).

While the signs help the fire department find you, they also help other public safety agencies such as police, dog control and ambulance.  The signs are also of tremendous benefit to delivery companies such as UPS or FEDEX and utility services such as water, phone, power, and cable.

Members of the Cornelius Fire Department will personally install these much-needed address marker(s) at the beginning of your driveway in the Cornelius Rural Fire District.  If your driveway branches, we will need additional marker(s) at each branch of the road.
